We love a little of Italy's Common Series, a producer / label / labour of love who has all sorts of shortcuts to the heart of the dancefloor. Where others might simple slap a thumpin kick under a disco classic, this artist fuses multiple tracks into one, fucks with the frequencies, gets psychedelic and still keeps us moving. "Smash" is the perfect example of this advanced approach, slicing and dicing Spandeau's 'Chant No.1' into a whole new beast with a trippy and melancholic synthline up top. Next up, The Undisputed Truth get the micro edit treatment as their slow burn funk bomb "Method to the Madness" gets housed the fuck up! Flip it for a frisky little disco-house demolition with a whole load of nipple high bass and bruning brass. For the finale "Good" gives us that solid Soundstream style of heavy hitting funk, rounding out the package with a plomb.
