The shadowy character is Goldfinger aka Marco Erroi who likes to go by a number of different aliases, but the majority of his output has been released on the Common Series moniker, something reserved for the more abstract blend of house that he likes to dabble in. It's time for number four in ther series, dubbed Tarantulae, and there's a little bit of everything in here to enjoy. The beatless, liquid sounds of "Est 1" spill into an absurdly out-of-sync, pseudo house jam under "Est 2", followed by a new age kind of moment in "Est 3". Flip it and you got "Ovest 1", an experimental sway of pads, voices, and watery dub, while "Ovest 2" gargles its way through a dash of acid; sounds washed away and dried up by the stuttering broken beat of "Est 3". Well, this is a tip if we ever saw one!

Tarantulae have produced five tracks of ambient experimentation and one of Disco action. The bulk of the E.P. has seashore samples segue machine hum and analogue quest. Operatic vocals duet. Percussion rattles like chains. There`s a wash of Suzanne Ciani synthesized New Age tides, and bells` whose sonority is clipped. Dominican choirs are cut with shortwave static. Babble and beats. “Ovest2”, however is an International smoke signal. A 303 Warrior`s dance of chants against counter rhythm. A “Stebeni`s Theme” on (more) Acid.
