Limits and boundaries are destroyed and reinvented to achieve an oasis where nothing else matters if not the travelled stories.

Nuova label gestita via Roma della quale per il momento emergono poche, selezionate info.
Un nome, Common Series. A far girare il groove ci pensa Marco Erroi, personaggio laterale della Roma club riversato nell'attività produttiva per buona grazia delle nostre orecchie.
Nei tre brani che vanno a dare i natali alla label (stampata in 200 copie numerate a mano) ci troviamo di fronte altrettanti percorsi musicali.
Parleremo per posizioni perchè i brani non hanno titolo, quindi partiamo dal lato A che dopo una giravolta di piano fa entrare massiva una cassa in quattro che rende gloria alla Chicago chiave deep dei primi anni '90. Mentre il basso spinge in profondità a guardare verso il cielo ci pensa un caldo groove circolare che si dipana tra archi celestiali ed una pioggia di note. Siamo nel cuore dell'house, con rispetto per la memoria ma senza quell'approccio fossile che sta equiparando tutte le attuali release sul genere. Gran pezzo.
B1 in dimensione raw con un suono scompostoche punteggia le percussioni creando un effetto sfalsato molto interessante. Dopo un minuto e mezzo di messa a fuoco entra in gioco una linea acida che fa da preambolo al micidiale raddoppio percussivo, tra piattini in volata libera, cassa tonante e tamburi in sequenza. House modernismo.
In chiusura un brano orientato all'ascolto, una breve introduzione percussiva unita a ribollii acquatici, poi un flusso caldo con quello che sembra il suono di una chitarra ad intonare una melodia pastorale, forse troppo pressante il ritmo che offusca un pochino la bellissima melodia in alcuni frangenti, ma, ancora, un ottimo brano.
Le idee ci sono, e dare un caloroso benvenuto ad una nuova label italiana è sempre un gran piacere. Avanti così.

Nice first edition of this new series. Some beautifal techno tracks together with some darker frantic acid and some advanced electronica. All tracks good, despite their huge style differences. Lovely new label that only makes 200 copies. Tip!

Shadowy Italian operation Common Series starts its life with this three track single, taking the anonymous approach and embracing analogue wizardry as a vessel for this particular strain of house and techno. "Track 1" is a dilapidated Chicago sci-fi number, all warbling synth and slow, nagging beat more suited to introspective home listening than extroverted floor rocking. "Track 2" shows off more brawn, with a malevolent bass note that dominates the track while subtle flecks of acid dart around the sturdy jack-beat in a stripped and sinewy throwdown. "Track 3" returns to the more thoughtful arrangements of the first, this time reveling in the sound of running water as a sort of benchmark for lightly bubbling melodies and scatty rivulets of beat.
